entity relationships
try a little bit
OK, I skimmed the manual; really skimmed.
So I’ll just do a small test upload of my members & linked PAU files and see how it works.
Data Migration Manager
I used it before and didn’t get a big bang for what I needed at the time, but I’ll take another look @ the DMM now with an eye for importing entity relationships and see what that can do.

Looks like including the PAU’s GUID in the member import fails too. I need to do more research.

OK, Plan A failed. I’m going to try to do the import Member records using the PAU GUID instead of the PAU primary attribute to establish the relationship.

I guess I can solve my data import map copy problem by exporting a clean copy and then re-importing it when I need it.

what should I put in the Member import table to connect to PAU? The Pau’s guid, or the Pau’s default nvcarchar attribute? I’ll try the default attribute first…

Actually I might be OK. Bulk export gave me the GUIDs that I needed. Now the question remains if I can import Members (contacts) and set the the relationship GUID to the PAU I want.
Let’s see. I bet the importer won’t let me do it. lets see.
Stuck: can’t export enough to import enough
The bulk export tool doesn’t really export everything. My PAU:Member relationship information does show up in the export just in terms of the description, but not the real key (guid) field data. If I don’t have that, then I can’t import the Member table with the proper PAU key field set.
I’m dead in the water. [...]
Bulk Data export tool
Oh yeah, old memories coming back. MSCRM doens’t have a good built-in export capability (which is quite stoopid considering that you can customize an export and choose columns anyway…why not let the user pick every column?)
So now I go use MSCRM 4.0 Bulk Data Export which as I recall doesn’t work properly w/ MSCRM live but [...]
Exporting is scaring me
looks like there’s no way to export the “raw” entity table. oh shit. not good. I can export the records in a view, but only gives me what’s in the view. Looking around now for more depth.
